Today I’m Going to talk about a current event in the country. Rise of the subway fare, a few weeks ago, it was announced that the value of the metro ticket and Transantiago (or RED). Now  the Price is $830 chilean pesos in the peak hour if you take bus and metro, the ticket for students and older adult stays at $230 chilean pesos.

People didn’t like it and began to claim. For years, from time to time, the Price is gradually increasing, each increase separately is not too much, but the long run it has already risen $400 chilean pesos in 10 years.

The Minister of Finance pronounced on the matter: "A space has been opened so that the early bird can be helped through a lower rate". The minister's words disturbed the population and quickly became the subject of memes on social networks.

Now high school students have demonstrated on the issue, avoiding and not paying the fine, but only high school students, everyone else continues to pay the fines, even though they are the most affected.

I think people shouldn’t keep up with this abuse, the metro and the Transantiago is always full  and travelling in thems is a bad experience, not worth $800 chilean pesos. The people should protest together, workers, students, homemakers, until the price down, the protest just work if everybody participate. In 1949 there was a protest called “La revuelta de la chaucha” when the ticket bus rised $20 cents and it was huge.
